YOGA SESSION 90 MINUTES

I decided to have some private lessons, as I was too stiff for classes and wanted specific help. I have had chronic back and leg pain for 18 months, been to numerous physios, chiropractors, masseuses. All helped in a superficial temporary way. However, Gwen has been able to see me free from the chronic pain and given me practical guidance for things to do at home to keep me on track.

You can feel that Gwen really believes in what she is doing, which makes her a joy to be with. We had some excellent talks which helped tap into some of my baggage and get things moving on that level, too. Thank you so much Gwen, I really enjoyed our sessions, and am still feeling the benefit. What happens during a one to one session?

A one to one yoga session begins by focusing upon yoga postures or movement that are suited to your current state of health and level of fitness.  After several sessions you will develop the confidence to design your own practice and have a life long love affair with yoga.

Is one to one yoga more beneficial than coming to your yoga classes?

Classes are useful for beginners and it’s always nice being part of a group. One to one tuition can be beneficial for people with specific health issues or who are keen to take their yoga practice to the next level.

Who would benefit from one to one yoga?

Everyone. Imagine having a yoga routine that is designed perfectly for your mind, body and soul. Think of the extra energy and inner calm you’d have. One to one yoga is a wonderful investment in you.

Whether one wishes to be a teacher or not, this course will empower one’s innate ability to self-heal, prevent diseases and disorder, promote a positive health with lifestyle management and bring peace and harmony in society. Paramhansa Samsthana Yoga Instructor Certification Course has been running globally for the last three decades with great benefits. Gwen has been affiliated to this organization for many years and has received tremendous support from Yoga and Ayurvedic doctors through the organization in India and Singapore. 

I love being a teacher.  It is a joy to connect with so many good-hearted people everyday. It is amazing to feel someone's heart beating and breath moving in class.  I honestly feel that I'm getting better as a teacher all the time and I know why.  It's because I learn from my students.  I definitely learned a lot from my yoga teachers and I continue to learn from my own yoga practice.  But my students teach me new things every day. I am always digging deeper and figuring out new ways to communicate, to inspire, and to connect the movement, mind, breath, attention, intention -- you name it.  Because yoga is not just union of body, breath and mind -- it's actually everything.  I try to pay close attention to each person, as best I can, and that is how I keep learning how to teach.  Because teaching yoga is about teaching people, not poses.

Teaching yoga is a skill - it takes practice.  If you are interested in becoming a yoga teacher you need to have a committed self-practice, cultivating curiosity with awareness and practice teaching.  Even if you are not planning to teach, the instructor’s training course is a good platform to learn yoga from a teacher’s perspective. - Gwen. Meditation (in Motion)

This meditation has been created based on the principles of Mandukya Upanishad. It contains twofold process of Sadhana (practice):-

Laye sambodhayet cittam viksiptam samayet punah

Sakasayam vijaniyat samapraptam na calayet. (Man. Karika-3.44)

When the mind gets to a state of drowsiness, stimulate and awaken it; as it starts speeding up and distractions set in clam it down. Do this again and again.

This meditation is designed and developed to help participants to release deep-rooted stress like obsessions, strong likes and dislikes, phobias etc. Through successive series of stimulations and relaxations it can solve the complexity of the mind reach a state of equanimity and bliss.
